BREAM is located in Cape Town, South Africa and our region of interest is specifically the Western Cape but this does not exclude the rest of AFRICA . Tilapia were introduced to the Western Cape nearly a hundred years ago and are found in nearly all of our freshwater systems. Indigenous home range for O. mossambicus is just north of the Zambezi to the bushmans river north of Port Elizabeth.
